Decibel (formerly Berlin Nightclub)

The successor to Berlin Nightclub, Chicago's legendary LGBTQ+ dance club that held it down at this address from 1983 to 2023. Berlin was the wild heart of Chicago nightlife — neon lights, drag queens, punks, leather daddies, pop kids, and glitter under the same disco ball. When it closed in November 2023, the city lost an irreplaceable queer institution. In April 2026, HV Entertainment (which runs Fantasy, Bobby Loves, The Closet, and the Chicago Eagle) reopened the space as The Belmont (craft cocktail bar) and Decibel (late-night dance club). Fresh lighting, new sound system, remodeled bathrooms, two bars — but the same energy. Techno, house, '80s, '90s, and early 2000s. The curtain pulls back at 10pm and the dance floor takes over.
